Privacy Policy

How Baby Tracker Pro & Newborn Log handles the information you keep about your family. The short version: we don’t collect it.

Summary

  • We don’t collect your data. The app’s App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected.
  • No account, no ads, and no third-party analytics or tracking.
  • Your logs stay on your devices and in your own private iCloud database, which we can’t access.
  • iCloud sync is on by default. You can turn it off in the app under Settings → iCloud Sync.
  • You can export or delete your data at any time, including everything stored in iCloud.

1. Who we are

Baby Tracker Pro & Newborn Log (“the app”) is made by DuttLabs, an independent studio run by Dr. Shankar Dutt (“we”, “us”). DuttLabs is responsible for this policy and for any personal information we handle, such as emails you send us. You can reach us at privacy@duttlabs.app.

The app is designed so that we never receive the information you record in it. Where data-protection law treats a business as the “controller” of personal data, that would be DuttLabs, but for your baby’s logs there is nothing for us to control: they stay with you.

2. What the app stores

The app stores only what you choose to enter, on your device:

  • Baby profiles: name, date of birth, sex (used for growth charts) and an optional photo.
  • Care logs: feeds, sleep, diapers, pumping sessions and milk stash, with times, amounts and notes.
  • Health records: growth measurements, medicines and doses, appointments and questions for the doctor.
  • Memories: milestones and photos you add to the journal.
  • Settings: units, reminders, theme, Night mode and app icon.

Photos are copied into the app’s own storage when you add them; the app only sees the photos you pick.

3. Where it’s stored

On your device

Your data is kept in the app’s private storage on your iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch and is protected by iOS Data Protection. Use a device passcode to get the most from it.

In your iCloud (on by default)

iCloud sync is turned on by default so your devices stay in step. When it’s on, a copy of your data, including photos, is stored in the app’s private database in your iCloud account (Apple CloudKit), tied to your Apple ID. Only devices signed in to your Apple ID can read it; we can’t. Your iCloud data is protected by Apple’s iCloud security, and if you turn on Advanced Data Protection for iCloud, Apple applies end-to-end encryption to more categories of iCloud data. To stop syncing, turn off Settings → iCloud Sync in the app. Turning sync off doesn’t delete what’s already in iCloud; see Keeping and deleting data.

4. Apple features the app uses

  • Notifications: feeding, diaper, nap-window, medicine and appointment reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. We don’t run a notification server.
  • Siri and Shortcuts: voice requests are processed by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy. The app only receives the action (for example, “log a diaper”) and saves it on your device.
  • Apple Watch: logs made on the watch are sent to your iPhone using Apple’s WatchConnectivity, directly between your devices. If your iPhone is out of reach, they wait on the watch until it’s reachable.
  • Widgets and Live Activities: these can show information such as your baby’s name, the time since the last feed or a running timer on the Home Screen and Lock Screen, where anyone holding your device can see it without unlocking. Remove the widgets, or turn off Live Activities in iOS Settings → Baby Tracker, if you’d rather not.

5. Exports and sharing

PDF summaries (including the Pediatrician Visit Summary), CSV exports and milestone cards are created only when you choose to export or share them. Once you send a file through the share sheet, for example by email or to a messaging app, the recipient and that service handle it under their own terms.

6. Purchases

Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple gives developers aggregated reports, such as sales figures, and crash or usage reports from people who choose to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements. These reports don’t contain your logs.

7. No tracking, ads or analytics

The app contains no advertising, no third-party analytics and no tracking SDKs. We don’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and we don’t sell, rent or share personal information.

8. This website

babytracker.duttlabs.app is a static website hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.). Like most web hosts, GitHub may log technical information such as IP addresses to operate and secure the service; see GitHub’s privacy statement. The site sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking, and loads its fonts and images from this site only.

If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply, and keep the conversation for as long as it’s needed to help you.

9. Children’s data

The app is for parents and caregivers, not for children to use. Parents and caregivers enter information about a child in their care, and that information stays on their own devices and in their own iCloud. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from or about children, and because we don’t receive the app’s data, the parent or caregiver stays in full control of it and can change or delete it at any time.

10. Keeping and deleting data

Your data stays until you delete it. You can:

  • Delete an entry: tap it on Today or in Timeline, then tap Delete.
  • Delete a baby and all of their data: open the baby’s profile from Settings and delete it.
  • Erase everything: go to Settings → Erase All Data.
  • Delete the iCloud copy: in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage (called Manage Storage on some versions), choose Baby Tracker and delete its data.

While iCloud Sync is on, deletions are synced to iCloud and your other devices. Deleting the app removes the copy on that device, but not the copy in iCloud.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR, US state privacy laws and the Australian Privacy Act give you rights to access, correct, delete and port your personal information, and to object to some uses of it. Because your app data is in your hands, you can use these rights directly: view and edit everything in the app, export it as PDF or CSV, and delete it as described above. For anything we hold, such as emails you’ve sent us, contact privacy@duttlabs.app. You can also complain to your local data-protection authority.

12. Security

We rely on Apple’s platform protections (iOS Data Protection, iCloud security and the App Store) rather than our own servers, and we keep the app free of third-party code that could access your data. No system is perfectly secure, so keep your devices updated and protected with a passcode.

13. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here and update the effective date. If a change matters to how your data is handled, we’ll also point it out in the app’s release notes.
